Sophomore Anna Lausberg offers her thoughts on reading days and midterms

Reading days officially started this week which only means one thing: midterms. Studying for midterms in college compared to high school is a completely different experience and requires a lot more time and effort. The way W&L lets us schedule our own exams is super helpful and definitely decreases stress. It’s also convenient that midterms happen to be around our fall break which gives people lots of time to study. However, fortunately for our team, we also have an awesome tournament to look forward to!

This year, we’ll be traveling to Danville, KY to play Centre, Transylvania, and Defiance. Having a tournament over reading days is a great way to spend the break and it’s also so nice to get away from campus for a couple of days. However, trying to balance studying for midterms on a 7 1/2 hour bus ride is not as much fun as it sounds. Trying to battle nausea and actually retain information while on a bus with all your best friends is probably one of the hardest things to do but also having their support while studying is so helpful. Finding that balance of studying and volleyball is hard, but with a team as great as ours we’re bound to have an awesome tournament and do great on all of our exams!
